CDMP Exam Cost: Current Price, Retakes & What to Budget
As of September 2026, DAMA lists the standard online CDMP exam at $311. Your real preparation budget may also include the DMBOK, optional training, practice materials, and a possible retake.
- Budget for the official exam separately from independent preparation.
- Check DAMA's current pricing before purchasing because fees can change.
- A stronger study plan can reduce the risk and cost of a retake.
What you should know
DAMA currently prices an online CDMP exam at $300 plus an $11 online-proctoring fee, or $311 total. A full Practitioner path normally requires Fundamentals plus two specialist exams, so exam fees alone can reach $933 before any retakes or study materials.
DAMA’s FAQ currently lists retakes at $200 plus the proctor fee. That makes preparation quality financially relevant: reducing the probability of a retake can be worth more than the cost of many prep products.
Budget separately for the DMBOK, optional training, and independent preparation. Official exam purchases and StudyForData access are separate transactions.
| Path | Exam count | Current online exam fees* |
|---|---|---|
| Associate | 1 | About $311 |
| Practitioner | 3 | About $933 |
| Master | 3 + experience assessment | About $933 plus current assessment fee |
| One retake | 1 | About $211 |
A simple preparation budget
An Associate candidate could budget for the $311 official exam, the DMBOK if not already owned, and optional prep. A Practitioner candidate should think in terms of three official exams rather than one, making a deliberate study system more valuable.
